In the local dialect Spiti means “in between”. It has earned this name since it lies in the middle of Tibet and India. That is why, it offers the most unique blend of cultures. That is not all, Spiti is the land of the Desert Mountains of the Upper Himalayan Region, which was cut off from the mainland for a very long time. Nevertheless, it was the seat of the Buddhist Renaissance in India – where it traveled back from Tibet in the 10th Century. It is the land of the most picturesque monasteries in the world. Moreover, traveling to Spiti takes you across dramatically changing landscapes and exciting roads which are famous all around the globe for their difficult terrain. However, the roads are no match to the experience of being in Land of the Gods.

This is an adventurous and challenging expedition so it is a good idea to prepare yourself physically – start a regular exercise regimen at least a month in advance. Try cardio-based exercises to increase your stamina and breathing exercises to enhance the oxygen absorption in the blood. This will help avoid altitude sickness during the expedition.
IF the weather conditions are bad, we will not push the trip beyond what is safe. Although we plan the Expedition in accordance to the weather predictions, he duration or the dates are subject to change if the weather changes for the worse.
